Manual stackers can increase the productivity of your business

In any warehouse or storage facility, stacking equipment is a necessity in order to function. Forklifts are reliable workhorses without which operations would come to a standstill. There is also the optional of stackers. These stackers handle smaller loads of up to 1.5 ton and some of them can lift goods as high as 3.5 metres. So, if a forklift can handle so much more weight with ease and lift it much higher, why would you need stackers? The reasons are extremely simple and practical.

Forklifts are heavy and require quite a relatively large storage space. Employing an entire fleet in your warehouse would decrease your functional storage area by a significant amount. They also carry a relatively large maintenance cost, as they need to be serviced at regular intervals to ensure optimal functioning and safety. In contrast, manual stackers require much less storage space and very low maintenance costs.

Another advantage of these stackers is that they can operate in much narrower aisles than lift trucks can. This is a benefit when you own a warehouse with existing narrow aisles. Also, if you need to save space you can create narrower aisles with the intention of using these stackers rather than forklifts.

Because these stackers are operated manually, they are simpler to control and unlike counterbalance lift trucks, they do not require the operator to acquire a certificate in order to be allowed to operate this piece of equipment. This has a dual benefit. Firstly, more of you staff members will be able and allowed to operate these stackers than lift trucks, potentially increasing productivity. This, combined with the ability of the stackers to operate in narrow aisles, could have a significant impact on your business.
